Thankful

Today, I'm sad. I know it's Thanksgiving in the US, although it isn't a holiday celebrated here in the UK. Until Facebook and making so many friends in the States, it was just a stereotypical US holiday, full of cosy images of the 'average' American family enjoying a meal equivalent to our Christmas dinner, something not quite real.
But I've decided to join the party. Today I am thankful for good friends, even though I've just had to say goodbye to one as she takes the long journey back to the States. I'm thankful for all the wonderful people Facebook has allowed me to meet and interact with. I'm thankful for my writing that drove me in search of kindred spirits who have brightened every day. I'm thankful for my family, for good health and a good life. I'm thankful even for the bad days that make the good ones shine all the brighter.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Enjoy your turkey. :)
