Six Sentence Sunday #55

Hello! *waves* Welcome back to my #sixsunday post - it's been a while. Thanks to everyone who stops by and comments. This week I have a snippet of a current WIP called Tethered. Here, the female MC - a genetically engineered and specialized assassin - is having her first meeting with the human she's been assigned to protect and act as a co-delegate to. She's not too happy about it, but she's going to get a shock...

“Master D’joren,” she said briskly. “I am Tyree of the Su.”
His head rose and his eyes met hers. She gasped, her gaze snatched to the side of his face that he’d kept covered with his hand until now. Scars twined across his cheek and threaded into his hair. They had pulled the corner of his eye astray, one that was clearly cybernetic by the fine silver threads through the white.

  3. A lot of information conveyed--unobtrusively. The mention of scars (to me) automatically starts questions. How did he get them? There has to be a story behind them. :-)

  9. Unrelated to Six Sunday...apparently, there are TEN Amazon sites and their review databases don't overlap. I added my review for Keir to Amazon UK. I tried to post to Canada as well, but Keir isn't listed there.

    1. I really appreciate that, Wendy, thank you. Yep, reviews and author profiles aren't shared across the sites - Keir is also up on the German, French, Italian and Spanish sites, but not yet the Canadian one. You can see the US reviews on the UK site, but the rating doesn't count. It's a bit weird but what can you do? O.o
