The Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop - Getting Ready for Christmas
So, the presents are bought and (mostly) wrapped, Christmas Day dinner and all the too-ing and fro-ing of family are all planned out, and the decorations are up. What else is there to do? Well, in my household there's the watching of Christmassy films leading up to the big day, so I thought I'd share three of my (and my family's) favourites with you, for raising that Christmas spirit. :)
1.The Muppet Christmas Carol
To be honest, I love any and all versions of the film, but the Muppets is the one my family enjoy most.
2.The Polar Express
I have to admit, I didn't like this film the first time around but it's grown on me. My oldest has reached the age where she no longer believes in Father Christmas - a sign that she's growing up - so it's particularly poignant now.
3.The Nightmare before Christmas
So, some people might find this an odd choice - mixing Halloween monsters with Christmas, but I love it! Especially this song, where Jack is discovering the magic of Christmas.
So, what's you favourite Christmas film to get you in the spirit? Comment below with your email (you can put it as name (at) email (dot) com) and you could be the winner of a little Christmas treat of your own - a $5 Amazon or B&N Gift card (winner's choice), available internationally.

I will reluctantly admit to watching WHITE CHRISTMAS because I like the "Sisters" song. Other than that, I deny and all holiday sentiment.

Hi Pippa! Happy Blog Hopping and Happy Holidays! There's just something extra magical about The Polar Express movie for me but I also really like The Nightmare Before Christmas. That's a good too. Good luck everyone in the hop!
ReplyDeleteIt's weird, I remember those shows being longer. My family used to watch the Chevy Chase movie with the Light fiasco and the fried cat.
ReplyDeleteIt was so like our family.
I can't remember the name. Family Vacation. I do remember it's name was misleading, as if the producer did NOT want it watched at Christmas.
