Growing up I was an
absolute horse-crazy tomboy (I’ve sorta/kinda moved past that). I married my
high school sweetheart, upgrading him to love of my life status. I have three
kids who are all smarter, funnier, and much better looking than their mother.
Tell us about The Keep:
Tell us about The Keep:
The Keep is the second book in a series,
so this answer might be a little vague because I don’t want to give too much of
book one away. Essentially, The Keep
is a story of a young girl with remarkable powers overcoming heartache and her
search for that place (or person) she can call home.
What inspired you to write this particular story?:
What inspired you to write this particular story?:
With all the superhero hype, I wanted to explore ‘super powers’ in
a more realistic way. I kept asking questions like: what if we could use the
full extent of our brain power? What if we could access all our muscle’s
strength? The Converters series was born from all those what ifs.

Trust is never easy to rebuild,
especially when you’ve destroyed it in yourself. There are other quotes and
dialogue I love, but this snippet probably sums The Keep up better than anything else. When are good instincts
enough? How do we overcome the doubts brought on by our mistakes?
Which comes first for you – a character's looks, personality or name?:
Which comes first for you – a character's looks, personality or name?:
Definitely personality. Then I try to find a name
that fits the personality I have in mind. Looks come last.
Any tips for aspiring authors?:
Any tips for aspiring authors?:
Read a lot
(both great and not-so-great books) and write a lot (both great and
not-so-great words). I’ve learned a lot from writing things wrong and I’ve
learned even more from reading fantastic writing and horrible writing. Learning
to critique is important. But I think that the most important thing is to
always remember writing is a preference and while someone might hate your voice
someone else will probably love it.

I would write more when I
had the time!! I stopped writing after high school because a teacher tore my
work apart. I wish I hadn’t wasted that decade being convinced I couldn’t write
a thing worth reading.
What super-power would you choose?:
What super-power would you choose?:
Tough
choice….hmmm, I think I would go for telekinesis. Moving things with my mind?
The possibilities for practical jokes are endless. And never having to get up
and get the remote across the room? Priceless.
If you could have three wishes, what would they be?:
If you could have three wishes, what would they be?:
My house paid off with savings in the bank, two extra hours in the day for
writing, and my books in every house. Just a few simple, undemanding things.
Coffee, tea or wine?:
Coffee, tea or wine?:
Dr. Pepper. Wait…was this
not a choice? D.P. should always be an option. My writing is powered by more
Dr. Pepper than I care to admit.
What is your favourite book? (aside from one of your own!):
What is your favourite book? (aside from one of your own!):
My answer to this is everchanging. Right now, I would have to say Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. Great world.
Great characters. Great dialogue. Great reading. My all time favorite and
countlessly read book is Pride and
Prejudice. Jane Austen is a literary genius.
Favourite genre and why?:
Favourite genre and why?:
Historical fiction.
I’m an escapist reader, but when I read historical at least I can pretend I’m
educating myself on more than human nature.

Converters Book 3 will be released in the summer of 2017. And I’m working on
some fairy-tale retellings with the male and female rolls reversed. Also two
stand-alone contemporary YA books and a fantasy series. And a Converters
novella. And….yeah, I have a too many ideas and too little time.

About the Author
After living throughout the western U.S.,
Tenille now claims rural Northern Nevada as her home. If she's not being
consumed by a book--whether her own or another author's--she'd like to be found
horseback riding, backpacking with her high-school sweetheart/husband, or
photographing their three beautiful children.
Tenille loves to read any genre (as long as there's great dialogue with a touch of snark). She believes in authentic characters, romantic sub-plots, and realistic, happy endings.
