Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday #54

Hello, welcome to another #sffsat post. I'm  continuing with Terms & Conditions Apply this week, and I'm very excited to announce that I will shortly be uploading this to Smashwords.com and Amazon. So, avatar Soren has whisked Marie away to wait for transport home, and she's still trying to resolve her confusion over him. I mean 'it'. Er...

She took in the surroundings as Soren eased himself into a seat opposite her. A bar, brightly lit and crowded. "Well," she breathed finally, "what about--"
"Kavril," announced the service droid hovering above them, before lowering itself to deposit two tall, steaming glasses of the caramel-colored liquid on their glass table.
Marie gaped. "How did...?"
"I ordered them in transit," Soren said. His--its--smile deepened, and she found herself catching her breath.
Oh, please, she told herself, it's not as if it's a real man. Just a copy of one!

  6. This is an interesting look at a relationship that could only exist in a world of speculative fiction. Congrats on putting it out live & definitely looks to be a fun read.

  7. Coffee before you ask for it? He IS good. He's won my heart. I understand her dilemma. He's downright exciting, but there's no possibility of anything more than grade A pining. Right? Or...can there be more?! Love this.

  11. Okay, so he can't be a real man masquerading as an android - he's too damned perfect.

    Good snippet!

  12. All right, so he must be an android after all - no real human man could be that perfect...
