On Hiatus

I'm taking a short break from the internet for August, so this blog will be a little quiet for the rest of the month and into the first week of September. In the meantime, there are scheduled posts going up every Wednesday at my cosplay blog - The Intergalactic Seamstress - and at the review blog Critique de Book, plus the odd up to date post at Spacefreighters Lounge on a Tuesday (or you can find my fellow crew mates posting Monday-Friday). See you when September comes!

#Science #Fiction #Fantasy Saturday #70

Created by Misa Buckley

Good morning! Welcome to this week's #sffsat snippet, and a smidge more of my upcoming #cyberpunk release - Reboot. What do you think of the cover?

So here we are with the last ever sffsat. Wow! *sad face* I haven't taken part in many over the last year, but I'm going to miss it. Well, last time I gave you the opening to Reboot, with my rather confused male MC waking up. But what's he waking up to?

“Good. I’m going to remove the eye shield, and I want you to open your eyes as soon as you’re ready.”
“Okay.”
Pressure lifted from his face, and a crimson glow replaced the darkness.
“Whenever you’re ready,” the speaker prompted.
Damien opened one eye but shut it just as quickly when light stabbed into his retinas.
“Just relax and keep trying,” his companion urged.
Several blinks later, Damien could squint into the light. The man who’d spoken was a dark, blurred shape hanging over him.
“Good.” The man shifted away.
Still struggling to keep his eyes fully open, Damien stared up at the ceiling. It gleamed with a pale luminescence that stretched as far as he could see. The whole room was white, and an antiseptic smell filled his nostrils.

Reboot will be releasing on the 31st March at all digital retailers. In the meantime, why don't you check out the other participants in this week's sffsat? Just click on the banner below. :)

  1. An awakening, the world literally coming into focus around him. Evocative and intriguing - just what you need for the first page of a novel.

  2. Great snippet...always like a good snippet of someone waking up in a strange place around unknown people.
