She screamed, and let the sonics rip
free—her last resort. The cry blasted Dark across the room and smashed him into
the far wall. Tubes of glowing liquid exploded and sprayed across the room. A
siren wailed. The heavy metal door of the chamber slowly swung closed.

seal? She didn't stop to consider the consequences,
and dove for the ever narrowing gap. She made it, but shutters were coming down

Looks like your heroine is in trouble - a superhero without flight? Very remiss of her. Let's hope she's got some other way to avoid going splat! Good snippet - I like action scenes like this!
ReplyDeleteOoops, did I forget to give her wings?! :P
DeleteAwesome snippet...love a good superhero story, and what's better than putting them into total and complete peril?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Oh, yeah, where's the fun in being nice to them?!
DeleteHead first through a convenient window - must hurt!
ReplyDeleteMight knock some sense into her though. Then again...
DeleteShe certainly never takes the easy way out, does she?
ReplyDeleteNope.
DeleteThat's using your head. ;) I like how you added the human element to your superheroine with her acting on instinct like a normal person.
ReplyDeleteWell, thinking isn't her strong point, that's for sure. :)
