Celebratory Snippet: Keir by Pippa Jay #scifi #romance via @pippajaygreen

Today I'm sharing something of my own from book one of my time travel romance series. Here, the party's just getting started but the heroine has been warned off remaining, a suggestion she doesn't take well.

Excerpt:

“If you think we should leave, say so now,” she told Keir, her tone challenging.
“You believe you should remain?”
“Absolutely. I don’t like it when strangers come looking for me. Last time it was a bounty hunter working for the Siah-dhu.” She shivered and made a face. “But I can send you back to Lyagnius if you’d prefer.”
“I will not leave you here alone, not if there is a chance you are in danger.”
“Good. I wanted you to stay.” She grinned her approval and finished her drink. “Would you like to dance?”
Keir stared at the dancers. Although the steps were unknown to him, he recognized the formality of it as akin to something that might have been performed in the Adalucien court. But it had been twenty years since he had learned that.
“I do not know how.”
“Nor do I,” she admitted. “But it looks like fun.” She extended her hand to him in a slow, deliberate movement.
His breath caught. He stared at her open palm. Of its own volition, his hand moved until his fingers hovered just above hers. Then he withdrew it.
“Quin, I—”
“It doesn’t matter,” she said, a fraction too quickly. “We don’t have to hold hands for the next one.”

Last Day To Go Blue! #Authors4ALSA

Final day for Authors For ALSA
Today is your last chance to help support the ALS Association by picking up on of the beautiful blue cover books from Authors Supporting ALSA!

Looking for Blue skies and smooth sailing to cure ALS

The skies are Blue,
Our books are too.
We're fighting ALS
with some help from YOU!

Twelve enthusiastic sci-fi romance and paranormal romance authors. Fifteen fantastic blue covered books. One month to help support an outstanding organization.

From May 1-31, 2018 these authors will donate a minimum of 25% of their sales of these books to the ALS Association, an organization dedicated to providing ALS patients and their families with a multitude of different types of assistance, and continuing research to find a cure for this deadly disease.

Already got Keir? Don't panic. I've decided to add any sales from any of my other blue cover books as well (but not The Bones of the Sea as that's a free book so there are no royalties to donate).

Already got those too? You can always go to the Blue Cover Page on the ALSA site and make a donation direct here: http://webgw.alsa.org/site/TR/Endurance/GoldenWest?team_id=367681&pg=team&fr_id=12950
ALSA Twitter: https://twitter.com/napaALSride
ALSA Facebook Group:  https://www.facebook.com/RidetoDefeatALS/?hc_location=group

Now, I understand things can be tight so there is still another free way you can help us by sharing this post anywhere on social media. All it will cost is a few seconds of your time, and it could make all the difference.
However you choose to do it, thank you so much for your support!

May The Fourth Be With Me... #SFRGalaxyAward #scifirom

It seems the title for my latest release has been even more appropriate than I ever thought. Not only was Unexpected a surprise (and my only) release of 2017, having originally been intended as an anthology submission, but just this week it won a SFR Galaxy Award for one of the best and most interesting aliens, and my fourth award since they began. I'm so chuffed! Of course I love my first contact romance novella and my two MCs, but there's nothing like the buzz of knowing someone else loved them too, and enough to list them as one of their standout reads of the year.
The SFR Galaxy Awards have been running for six years now, recognizing not just science fiction romance books, but also films, TV shows and computer games in that time. There's no open entry - the judges are entirely free to pick anything they feel has really impressed them in the genre of SciFi Romance, regardless of what media form it takes. You can find out more about the awards and the judges involved by clicking HERE.

Unexpected is mentioned HERE (and I'm in fantastic company!), but you can check out the book itself by clicking any of the links under the cover image on the right hand side of this blog, or visiting the webpage HERE.
