Six Sentence Sunday #51

Hello, welcome to another #sixsunday. Thanks so much to those who stop by and comment each week. :)
I'm continuing with Keir this week, and Quin is still trying to coax some answers...

“Did you kill someone?”
“They caught me stealing food.”
“Just a thief, then.”
The accusation, however true, stirred his resentment. “What choice is there when you are penniless and starving?”
“True enough, but you did just threaten to kill me...”

  6. Interesting dynamic between these two. Her "just a thief" seems almost dismissive, then she appears to be trying to make up for it by pointing out he threatened her life.
