Read Only Wednesday is when I highlight a book I've just read, am about to read, or added to my TBR pile. This week I was excited to see Erica Hayes is finally releasing a sequel to her superhero book Scorched (see my 5* review for that HERE, and it's just $0.99 right now). At the moment Scarred has gone on my wishlist as Goodreads is stating a November release date, while Amazon is quoting it as February 2016. Confused much? Nevertheless, it'll definitely be going on my TBR pile as soon as it's actually available. Update - the author now assures me the release date is 14th January 2016. At time of posting, there's no cover so you'll have to settle for the blurb:
Superpowers don't make you a hero.
Verity Fortune's crime-fighting days are over. In exile, defeated by her smug supervillain nemesis, her shady past exposed—even her own superpowered family condemn her as a traitor. Whatever it takes, Verity's determined to prove she can still be a force for good.
Now, Sapphire City faces a new threat. A delinquent duo with extraordinary powers and a terrifying talent for destruction. Outmatched and on the run, her telekinetic powers faltering, Verity can't defeat this menace alone—but who can she trust, when the only person who believes in her is her arch-enemy?

Interview with Erica Hayes and DRAGONFLY
Hi, Erica, thanks for stopping by to visit and let us know about your new release - DRAGONFLY.
Thanks
for having me! I’m delighted to be here.
Okay, let’s dive straight in...
What genre/s do you write in?
My
latest book, DRAGONFLY, is romantic sci-fi adventure. I also write dark
paranormal romance. I have a series called the Seven Signs, set during a
near-future apocalypse in Manhattan, with fallen angel warrior heroes and cool
demon villains.
Why do you write?
It's
fun to create new worlds and characters! I get engrossed in my stories, often
at the expense of the real world, sadly.
Where can we stalk you?
I'm
on Twitter most often – I'm @ericahayes. But you can stalk me on Facebook, too:

Upcoming releases?
This
month, I have DRAGONFLY. My first foray into sci-fi! It's a romantic adventure about
an interstellar secret agent who's chasing the terrorist who killed her fiancé.
Spaceships, rayguns and romance, oh my! I love this book. Here’s the copy:
Carrie Thatcher is a tough Imperial counter-terrorism agent. Her mission:
pose as a sexy cyber-thief to entrap the notorious rebel Dragonfly, who’s
planning a heist on the space station Casa de Esperanza; a orbital casino on
the fringe of Imperial space.
And this assignment’s personal: Dragonfly murdered her closest friend, and she’s in no mood to show him mercy. Even getting stuck with the partner from hell—Malachite, her sociopathic ex-lover and the Empire’s most dangerous agent—can’t dampen her relish for the kill.
With Carrie’s expert weapons skills and penchant for cracking codes, insinuating herself into Dragonfly’s confidence should be easy. But is he the ruthless killer she was led to believe? Or has her precious Empire deceived her? With Malachite watching her every move, the slightest flinch in loyalty means death.
Carrie is soon racing to uncover an audacious treachery that will shock the Empire to its core … if she can stay alive for long enough to expose it.

Previous releases?
The
first Seven Signs book is called REVELATION. Demons are hijacking the
Apocalypse for their own ends. The hero is a fallen angel. His heroine is a
medical examiner who doesn’t believe in angels. Angst, hotness and
zombie-slaying ensues.
I
also have a dark urban fantasy/romance series called the Shadowfae Chronicles,
where demons rule the underworld in a fairy-infested nightmare city. It's more
erotic than the others.
What are you working on now?
Galleys
for Seven Signs book 2, called REDEMPTION, which is out in March 13. Other than
that? Some new ideas. A superhero book, and an historical fantasy. And a
demon-hunter story.
Thanks for stopping by, Erica!
