Looking Forward - 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I don't make New Year resolutions, but in the last couple of years I *have* made a list of hopes for the year ahead, especially in writing terms. So for 2014 these are my hopes, plans and aspirations for the next twelve months.

1. Finishing, polishing and submitting my freaky little supernatural romance story from NaNoWrimo
2. Finishing my winter solstice SFR short for release in December 2014
3. Releasing my PNR short in October 2014
4. Chevron with Misa Buckley in April
5. LonCon 3 in August
6. Hoping that the Kickstarter projects for Keir's Fall and Tethered will be successful, though even so they may not release until 2015.
7. Hoping to contract Darkfall
8. Hope I can get Revived edited and released, although that comes down to budget. With two shorts already scheduled for release and two conventions, I may not be able to afford it.
9. With two holiday themed shorts already, I'm hoping to add an Easter one.
10. If Keir's Fall is successful, I will need to dust off book three and revise it.
11. To clear some more of the WIP list. I'd like to see more of them finished. Um. There's a few...

Flaming Angel (scifi short) - ready to submit
Reboot (cyberpunk short) - rejected
Secret project (sfr novella) - awaiting edits
T&CA sequel (sfr short) - incomplete
Tethered sfr novella - contracted
Keir's Fall (sfr novel sequel) - contracted
J+T (Antho sequel sfr novel) - in progress
Samaritan (scifi short) - edits waiting
Shadowcast (sfr novel, Keir book 3) - to edit
No Mercy (fantasy romance novella) - incomplete
Seekers of the Nine (sfr novel, Keir book 4) - incomplete
Space vampire (scifi novella) - incomplete
Kauri's Tale (sfr novella) - to edit
The Overlord's Consort (sfr novella) - incomplete
Darkfall (decopunk superhero romance) - subbed
Endings (sfr novel(la) Keir book 5) - incomplete
Love's True Form (sfr short) - incomplete
PNR short - in edits
Revived (sfr novella) - complete - awaiting edits
Winter solstice (sfr short) - incomplete
RIP (supernatural romance) - incomplete
Ostara (Easter sfr short) - incomplete

In the meantime, a huge thank you to the readers who have bought my books, and extra cookies to those who left reviews (yes, even the negative ones. All feedback is valuable). You're the ones who keep me writing and submitting and publishing.

So, what are your writing (or other) plans for 2014?

New Year's Blog Hop - Something to Celebrate with

Although it may be a little late in the day to celebrate the arrival of the New Year - some of you may even be recovering from it - I thought I'd share a fruity, fizzy cocktail you can continue toasting the New Year with, or save for your next celebration. Let me introduce the Champagne Diva!

Champagne Diva
Take three strawberries, 1fl oz of strawberry vodka, 1 tbsp lime juice, 2 tsp sugar, fresh mint leaves, 1/2 glass of chilled champagne and a mint sprig for decoration. Place everything except the decoration and the champagne into a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice and shake hard. Strain into the champagne and garnish with the mint. Simple!

To sweeten the taste even more I have a giveaway! To win, I'd like you to tell me how and/or with what you like to celebrate the New Year, be it a cocktail and excitment, or a cup of cocoa and an early night. In return, I'm offering internationally a $5 gift card for Amazon or B&N (winner's choice), and here's a little something you could spend it on - a hot scifi romance short to go with your chilled Champagne Diva - only $1.50!

A Science Fiction Romance Short Story

Available now via Smashwords.com, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Amazon US and Amazon UK

Welcome to Venus Ascendant, a Public Grade space station in the Andromedan Galaxy. With our open-to-all policy, any being in the universe can find their perfect R & R, romantic getaway or dangerous liaison at our purpose built resort. The on-board empathic AI Ganesa ensures that anyone coming to Venus Ascendant will find their heart’s desire, with suites that transform from luxurious boudoirs to sunset-lit beaches to dark BDSM dungeons. So come to Venus Ascendant and find exactly what you’re looking for!”
It was meant to be a romantic getaway for Marie and the love of her life Jaisen; a chance for him to get to know her better after months of her denying him more than a few stolen kisses. Instead, Marie finds herself dumped and alone on Venus Ascendant with no credit for a transmat and the next starship home not due for another hour.
But the all-seeing AI isn’t going to leave anyone aboard the space station with their dreams unfulfilled. Marie's boyfriend might not have made it to the station, but there are others willing and able to take on the role - even if they aren’t entirely human.
WARNING - Not suitable for under 18’s due to adult content.

Don't forget, for every blog that you comment on (and remember, you MUST include your email addy to qualify), you get an extra entry into the grand draw, as well as a chance at the individual goodies on offer!

So here are the GRAND PRIZES!! (Please bear in mind that all the prizes BAR THE SWAG BAG are international).

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012

I won't be blogging much over the next couple of weeks, with Christmas looming and the kids not going back to school until the 4th January. The blog won't be silent though. I have some automated posts set up for New Year's Eve, and I'm taking part in Carrie Ann Ryan's New Year blog hop on the 4th - stop by for your chance to win a Kindle Fire, Amazon GC, and a myriad of other yummy prizes being offered up by all the participants. :) If I remember to sign up, I'll be back for the first #sixsunday posting of the New Year. I'll also be guest posting over with the lovely Liana Brooks on the 18th about some of the myths of being a published author. In the meantime, I'd like to thank everyone who has stopped by, followed, and/or commented - you've been awesome. To my family, friends, followers, supporters, minions, worshippers...er...sorry, seem to have slipped a little too far there - have a great Christmas, and may it bring you health, wealth and happiness. I leave you with one of my favourite Christmas videos. xxx
