Judging A Book By Its Cover - #EPIC #Ariana 2016 #finalists

I am so excited to announce I got notification this morning that two of my book covers (and therefore two of my cover artists) are finalists in EPIC's 2016 Ariana cover awards. Woot! Congrats to Victoria Miller (my former Breathless Press artist) for my superhero romance When Dark Falls, and to Danielle Fine (who has created so much of my beautiful artwork from covers to marketing images, banners, and posters) for time travel romance Keir. Much deserved, ladies, and thank you!

EPIC news announcement

I have an addiction to shiny things, and that includes awards. Two of my top ambitions as an author are a PRISM award and an EPIC. And yesterday I thought I'd missed out on the EPIC again after seeing someone tweet they were a finalist while my inbox remained sadly devoid of any notification. Ah well. Another year, another book, I thought.

But this morning I did a random check of my Spam folder, and sitting there was a message from the eBook Judge Coordinator, subject line EPIC's eBook Awards Finalist! Woo hoo! My YA SF Gethyon - already a SFR Galaxy award winner at the start of this year - is one of four finalists in their science fiction category. What an awesome start to the day! And I had shiny things.

Aren't they pretty?! Of course, there's no telling if I'll actually be the winner - I have to wait until mid-March to know that - but just being a finalist has made me one very happy author. You can check out my fellow finalists at the EPIC website HERE. 

Keir is a contest finalist!

On the 1st July I got notification that Keir had made it into the finals of the Readers Favorite Contest Awards here. Woo hoo! (BTW you need to scroll down a long way, past the non-fiction categories to the Romance - Fantasy/Scifi section to spot it). This is my first ever literary contest. Keir had already scored a five star review as part of the competition, which qualified it for the next stage. It means that at the very least Keir will get an Honorable Mention Award when the winners are announced in September. Of course, I'm hoping for more than that. It also got a mention on my publisher's site here. <insert big cheesy grin>

In the meantime, I'll be entering Keir into the EPIC Ebook Awards. I've already entered a WIP SFR novella into The Rebecca. With my co-bloggers on Spacefreighters Lounge being Golden Heart winners several times over, I felt inspired to try out some contests for myself, something else I've never done before. Let's hope I can add to our triumphs so far. :)
