Last Day #giveaway #NetGalley #timetravel #scifi #romance

Today is a bonus day - the 29th February - and it's the last day for a couple of fun things.

First up, it's the last day to get Keir from NetGalley to read and review for free HERE.

Second, it's the last day to enter the international Goodreads giveaway for Keir's Fall in print. You can just click on the widget below.

From tomorrow, Keir's Fall will be available to read and review for free from NetGalley as well. You can find that HERE.

Status Update
Reunion is still being revised, but I still expect to make the 21st May release day and hold an event around that time.

The June project is in first round edits.
My RWA LERA Rebecca finalist Revived is having the ending rewritten for about the third time. Still hoping to release that some time this year, finances allowing.
When Dark Falls and Restless In Peaceville will shortly be coming out of KU, so if you were thinking of borrowing them, you've got about a week left to do so. I may put WDF back in at the end of March so that it runs alongside Quickshot for another 90 days, but after that...
Quickshot releases 31st March, but is available for pre-order at Amazon only. After 90 days in KU, it'll be available at other retailers as well.

Chook Update
Our four new chooks all have names! From left to right we have Pitch, Fizzgig, Spaghetti, and Effie. They're settling in okay although our original four aren't being particularly welcoming. There's been no fighting though.
How was your weekend?

Writing Update and Going AWOL #giveaway #NetGalley #amediting

From tomorrow I'm off the internet until the 21st for my usual school based holiday break from social media. But never fear! Various things will continue to run on automatic to keep you entertained (or not) while I'm gone. In the meantime, a quick update:

Zombie Girl: Dead Awakened - a YA dystopia novella set in our near future - will re-release on Monday the 15th across various online retailers. This was the last title I had contracted with the now deceased Lycaon Press, and the last I hadn't re-issued until now.

Available from...

Blurb:
Imagine waking up to find the world has ended, but unfortunately you’re not alone...

For Connor Innis, awakening from a year-long coma with no memories, no ability to move, and unable to speak was bad enough. Then he learns that a bioweapon set off a zombie apocalypse—for real—while he was sleeping, and the world he can't even remember no longer exists.

Rehabilitation might be torture, but far worse awaits him outside. All too soon, the hospital Mentor declares him fit to leave with nothing to go home to except a city full of mindless, flesh-eating monsters. That is, until he forms a strange relationship with the one he nicknames 'Zombie Girl'.

Previously released by Lycaon Press, 22nd April 2015. Re-released 15th February 2016. Artwork by Danielle Fine, edits by Allie Kincheloe. WARNING: contains bad language, and moderate gore and violence.

Next, my hot space opera short story - Quickshot - is available for pre-order, releasing 31st March. This will be Amazon exclusive for the first three months from release (sorry - if you want a non-Kindle version please buy it from Amazon, send me proof of purchase, tell me the actual format you need and your email addy, and I'll send you a compatible version).

Blurb:

Sal, a legal carrier (just about) of whatever comes her way, puts her trust in just two things: her guns.

Keeping out from under Imperium eyes—especially those belonging to a certain Ehi Wahu—while making a living, and trying to keep a lover who can tolerate her twitchy trigger fingers, are the extent of her ambitions.

Then a kiss from a passing stranger, and a promise of the biggest score in a long time, tempt her. Devin fulfils more than one need, but he comes with more trouble than one woman can handle. And this time it'll take more than her guns to save her. She'll have to trust a man again.

Releasing 31st March, 2016. Cover art by Danielle Fine, edits by Diane Dooley. WARNING: adult content including explicit sex, bad language, and implied extreme violence.

If you're hoping for freebies, you can still get Keir to read and review from NetGalley HERE until the end of February, and there's a Goodreads giveaway for book two - Keir's Fall - open internationally, also until the end of February. (Or check out the links to Tales from the SFR Brigade or The Bones of the Sea in the left hand side bar - both free to download from various retailers).

In other news, Reunion at Kasha-Asor - a side story in Keir's Redemption series - is in second round edits but currently still on target for release in May (psst there'll also be a special event then!). My planned June release is still awaiting my attention for first round edits. Gulp!

Have a good week!

Update 30/01/2012

Despite the majority of the edits on Keir being done (I've just had the MS back from my editor for a final read through after the line edits, with a pat on the back!), this year has started with a blast. In the last month alone I've had a series of guest posts, and done a couple myself. I signed up as the SFR Brigade Calendar Coordinator, got promoted to Deck Officer on the blog (and put my first post up there on Saturday!) and then received a very flattering invite to join the crew of Spacefreighters Lounge here. So even as Keir wings it's way off to go to galley, I'm not being idle. My inaugural post at Spacefreighters Lounge will go up on Wednesday. If you have any SFR related events coming up - a book release, signing, blog hop etc, please send me the details and I'll make sure it goes up on the Calendar so that all the SFR Brigade members can see it. Either e-mail me at pippajaygreen(at)gmail(dot)com, message me via the SFR Brigade website, or even tweet me a link @pippajaygreen.

In the meantime I'm still working on the sequel to Keir - Lost Serenity - in the hope that my publisher will want to sign it. I also have a rough draft of Tethered done (I know it says it's only 89.something % complete on my word meter, but the basic structure is there), a scifi short almost complete for self-publishing, and I'm waiting for news on two submissions of an sfr short and a scifi novella. I've also got two MSs coming my way to critique read that I'm really excited about! I've already been planning out the book tour for Keir's release, and you can see some of the dates and places listed in the 'Upcoming Events 2012' page. Having said that I'm no good at coming up with blog posts, the necessity of doing so seems to have sparked off a few. Long may that flash of inspiration continue!

SFR Brigade's Calendar Coordinator

So it's official - I'm honoured to be the Calendar Coordinator for the SFR Brigade. Yay! This means you can send me details of any SFR related events, such as your upcoming releases, book tours, giveaways etc - basically anything that might be of interest to writers of SFR. If it's a book release, please send me your name, title, publisher, a brief blurb and a sales link. You can contact me via the SFR website, or as pippajaygreen(at)gmail(dot) com or even tweet me as @pippajaygreen with a link to the information. To check out the calendar feature, go here.

Update 02/12/2011

Soooo, I got an email overnight to tell me that my MS will be back to me today/tomorrow. In some ways it's a relief and exciting - although my stomach is tying itself in knots over what might still need doing and how long I'll have. However, I'm confident I can deal with it. :)

So expect a bit of silence for at least the next week. I had the foresight not to sign up for any weekend blog posts - not because I can't schedule things to go up, but because I think it's unfair for me to post when I can't be sure I'll have time to return reads to anyone. Apologies if you've come looking for my #sffsat or #sixsunday snippets. Hopefully I should be back in mid-December (just in time for the holidays, tsk!)

Keep writing!
